Michael Ray Bishop, age 54 of Louisburg, KS, died unexpectedly on September 24th, 2010. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, September 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gable Louisburg Chapel. Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Louisburg, KS. Burial in the Louisburg Cemetery. Michael was born on October 4th, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Melvin and Anna Louise Bishop. Michael attended school in Louisburg and graduated from Louisburg High School in 1973. Michael worked for RO, Simon, Terex and Custom Truck & Equipment for 32 years as a crane inspector. Michael was married to Sharon Bishop on September 25, 1987, and together they raised four children, Valerie Caldwell, Joshua Bishop, Danielle Burton Lomax and Donald Bishop. Michael was preceded in death by parents, Melvin and Anna Louise Bishop; his daughter Danielle Burton Lomax; and infant sister Patricia Bishop. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Bishop of the home; his daughter Valerie Caldwell; his sons Joshua Bishop and Donald Bishop; his sisters Kathy Bishop and Mindy Jackson; his grandkids Kaylee Caldwell, Lane Mecum, Taylor Bishop, Gracie Bishop, Kassidi Lomax, Hunter Lomax and Devdan Caldwell, Step grandmother Ruth Bishop. He was also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most of all his family. He will be missed by many. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mike Bishop Memorial Fund.
