Michael "Mick" Jones

Michael Mick Jones, age 52, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Wellsville Manor Care Center in Wellsville, Kansas. He was born on Friday, August 23, 1957, in Garnett, Kansas. He was the son of Richard D. Jones, Sr. and Bettye Jean (McDaniel) Jones. He grew up in Williamsburg prior to moving to Ottawa. Mick graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1975, and attended Auto Technical Training in Topeka, Kansas. He held several positions including auto mechanics, carpentry and maintenance while employed with Ottawa Ford in the late 1970’s, Bea Martin Peck Animal Shelter in the 1980’s and Taylor Brothers Construction from 1991 to 1997, all of Ottawa. On February 1, 1991, Mick was united in marriage with Christina Ingels in Ottawa. She survives of their home. He is survived by his: Wife-Christina Jones of the home Father-Richard Jones, Sr. & his wife, Sharon, of Ottawa, Kansas Daughter-Lisa Thurston & her husband, Danny, of Fort Scott, Kansas Son-Shawn Jones of the home Son-Christopher Hancock of Overland Park, Kansas Brother-Richard D. Jones, Jr. & his wife, Carol, of Williamsburg, Kansas Stepsister-Tina Madison & her husband, Stanley, of Ottawa, Kansas Stepsister-Sandy Thornburg of Warsaw, Missouri Stepbrother-Lee Gregg & his wife, Kim, of Ottawa, Kansas Grandchildren-Five He is precedein death by: Mother-Bettye Jean (McDaniel) Jones Sister-Linda Gilbertson SERVICES: Memorial Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009.
