Michael King

Michael was born May 29, 1940, to Arthur and Gertrude Monach King in Marysville, Missouri. He grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Council Bluffs, Iowa, St Jo Missouri, and Independence, Missouri where he graduated from St. Mary"s High School in 1958. In 1962, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served until his honorable discharge in 1966, with the rank of E-5. After the Navy, he attended and graduated from Emporia University in 1969. On August 7, 1971, he was united in marriage to Rosemary Schmidt in Crystal Springs, Kansas. They moved to Paola in 1974. Mike worked for King Radio and later Allied Signal Corporation before his retirement in 1993. Mike enjoyed cooking, listening to classical music, reading scientific magazines and the Old Testament, watching TV documentaries, and talking with his family and friends by phone while relaxing in his easy chair. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; son, David; and brother, Stephen King. Survivors are his wife, Rosy of the home; daughter, Sarah King of Kansas City, Missouri; and one sister, Phyllis Rockers of Blue Springs, Missouri.
