Michael Austin Dryden

Michael Austin Dryden was born on Sunday, August 15, 1976, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Steve and Karen (Johnson) Dryden. A lifelong resident, Michael made his home in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, until his death on Saturday, August 12, 2006, at the age of twenty-nine years. Michael graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1996. He was associated with C.O.F. Training Services in Ottawa for ten years, where he formed many endearing friendships. Michael attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. He was active in Cub Scouts, a member of Boy Scout Troop 77, and achieved Life Scout. For fifteen years, he enjoyed competing in volleyball, basketball, softball, and bowling in Special Olympics. Michael is survived by his parents of Ottawa; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Stephanie and Jason Circle of Ottawa, Kristi and Aaron Good of Ottawa; brother and his companion, Derick Dryden and Amber Snover of Ottawa; maternal grandmother, Geraldine Johnson of Ottawa; paternal grandparents, John and Darlene Dryden of Ottawa; niece, Teigan Good of Ottawa; nephew, Justin Circle of Ottawa; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Clyde O. Johnson, and niece, Sadye Circle. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Westminster Presbyterian Church, Ottawa, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Michael at the Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.
