Melvin Lyle Schulz, 77, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2023, at his daughter's home.
He was born on Tuesday, May 21, 1946, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Charles and Velma (Finch) Schulz.
Melvin enlisted into the United States Marines in 1965. He was proud to serve his country. He was a Vietnam veteran earning two Purple Heart medals during his years of service.
He lived in Ottawa, Kansas for most of his life until moving to Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico for the last 25 years.
Melvin worked as a truck driver for much of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Melvin is survived by his children, Charles Schulz of Ottawa, Kansas, Stephanie Wooge of Pomona, Kansas, David Carter of Lawrence, Kansas, Anthony Carter of Ottawa, Kansas, Lori Little of Papillion, Nebraska, Becky Cain of Ottawa, Kansas, Mike Schulz of Belleville, Kansas, Melvina Schulz of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and Esmerelda Schulz of Charlotte, North Carolina, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
