Maxine Jones

Maxine Jones, 83, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018. Cremation is planned. No services are scheduled. Maxine was born May 3, 1935, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Kenneth and Thelma (Harris) Meyer. She moved from Wheaton, Missouri to Ottawa, where she lived 9 years. Maxine was united in marriage to Leaster Jones. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald Meyer and Theon Kenneth Meyer. Survivors include four children, Michael Neely and wife Donna of Olathe, David Neely and wife Charlene of Wellsville, Gary Neely of Olathe, and Debra (Jones) Boyd and Jackie of Noel, Missouri; brother, Harold Meyer of Martinez, California; ten grandchildren, Gary Jr., Allen, Jennifer, Kelli, Holly, Christopher, Cristin, Bryant, Mattea, and Brad; and twelve great-grandchildren. Maxine was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, camping and grilling. Above all, Maxine loved spending time with her family.
