Maxine Ames

Ruth Maxine Ames age 78 of Paola passed away Saturday April 26th at the Olathe Medical Center. Services will be Graveside Wednesday 1:30 PM at the Osawatomie Cemetery, visitation Tuesday night from 6 to 7:30 PM Penwell-Gabel 305 N. Pearl Paola, Kansas 66071, memorials in Lou of flowers to the Maxine Ames Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home, to leave family condolences go to Penwell-Gabel.com. Maxine was born on March 15, 1930 in Osawatomie Kansas to Herman and Hazel Stanback Goodeyon. She attended Osawatomie High school and in 1950 was united in marriage to Kenneth Ames in Miami County, to this union was born two children. Maxine worked for the State Hospital several years, owned and operated a liquor store with her brother "Bud" in Osawatomie. When they sold the business she worked in a liquor store in Paola. Later she operated a day-care in Paola where she loved caring for children until her health started failing in 2003. She enjoyed bowling, cooking and taking drives with her son. Preceding her in death are her parents, sister Betty Jean, brothers, Louie, Lloyd and Floyd Goodeyon. Maxine is survived by her daughter Debra Leineweber of Belton, MO., son Howard"Butch" Ames of Paola and one grandson Justin Leineweber of Belton MO.,brother Howard Goodeyon of Osawatomie, brother, Joe Goodeyon of Grove Oklahoma, sister, Mary Nichols of Granbury Texas, sister Rosie O"Brien of Grover Beach California, and sister Nina Evert of Belton, MO.
