Max W. “Bill” Seymour, age 76 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS. He was born on Wednesday, May 10, 1933 in Princeton, KS, the son of Benjamin M. and Lucille (Kinder) Seymour. He was a lifelong Franklin County resident, moving from Princeton to Ottawa with his family as an infant. Bill graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1951. He also attended Washburn University for one year. He was a printer for Tallman Printing and later Ramsey Printing from 1957 until his retirement in 1998, where he printed the Ottawa Times and Ottawa Shopper for many years. From June 3, 1953 to June 2, 1957, Bill served his country in the United States Air Force as a radio operator. He served in the United States Air Force Reserves, for 35 years, attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon; Demolay, Franklin County Historical Society, Friends of the Library, Franklin County Heart Association, Franklin County Cancer Society, Franklin County Diabetes Association, Jaycees where he was Past President, Kiwanis serving in many offices including Past President, all of Ottawa. He was also a member of the Air Force Sergeant Association, and served as fire chief of crash and rescue in the United State Air Force Reserves, for twelve years. On August 3, 1952, Bill was united in marriage with Betty Tallman in Ottawa. She preceded him in death on November 14, 1989. On June 23, 1990, he was united in marriage with Marilyn Fogle in Ottawa. She survives of their home. He is survived by his: Wife-Marilyn Seymour, of the home Son-Mark W. Seymour and his wife Cheryl, of Ottawa Daughter-Shelley Weatherbie and her husband Alden, of Vienna, Virginia Son-Benjamin S. Seymour, of Topeka Brother-Thomas O. Seymour and his wife Barbara, of Cumberland, Maryland Granddaughter-Rachel Seymour Granddaughter-Rebekah Symour Granddaughter- Sarah Seymour Grandson-Owen Weatherbie Granddaughter-Alanna Seymour Granddaughter-Margeaux Seymour Granddaughter-Kelsey Roupp Granddaughter-Jordan Roupp Granddaughter-Madison Roupp Grandson-Grant Fogle Grandson-Chase Fogle He is preceded in death by: First Wife-Betty Seymour Father-Benjamin McCune Seymour Mother-Lucille (Kinder) Seymour SERVICES: Memorial funeral services will be held from the First Baptist Church of Ottawa, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010. IN STATE: Mr. Seymour will be cremated. His family will meet with friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the First Baptist Church of Ottawa. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery.
