Matthew Dunne, 31, of St. Charles, Missouri died June 19, 2017 at his home. Matthew was born August 12, 1985 in Olathe, Kansas. He was the second of seven children born to James M. and Jackie L. (Loveall) Dunne. Matthew was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He grew up in Paola, Kansas and graduated from Saint Anthony’s in 2003. He attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School and graduated with Honors in 2007 with his Associates degree. Matthew worked at various restaurants throughout the Kansas City area including Yahooz and Yaya’s until 2010, when he moved to St. Charles, Missouri and worked for Ameristar Casino and Resort. Matthew was an avid sports fan who loved the Kansas City Chiefs and, for reasons still unknown, the Boston Red Sox. Matthew was passionate about his family, friends, and creating the most exquisite dishes for all to enjoy. Matthew’s love for his career, and those he had the pleasure and honor to work with, are best described in his own words when he was asked what he enjoyed about his job, “What I love most about my profession is the ability to create memories, for our guest and our fellow team members”. Matthew will be deeply missed, as he was a stranger to no one and loved by all; his heart of gold, endless self-sacrifice, and passion and love for friends and family will forever lend to his memory. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kay and Jack Loveall and Barbara and Jim Dunne. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Jackie Dunne of Paola, KS; brothers, Christopher of Overland Park, KS, Joshua (Sarah) of Gardner, KS, and Brother Bernard of Clear Creek Abbey, OK; sisters Jaymee of Paola, KS, Elizabeth of Overland Park, KS, and Sister Grace of Benedictines of Mary, Gower, MO; nieces Nichole and Hanna and Nephews Logan, Alexander and Gabriel. Family and friends are encouraged to post their condolences and memories on Matthew's Tribute Wall at www.dengelmortuary.com.
