Mary M. Vohs Wheeler, age 94, resident of Bucyrus, KS passed away September 18, 2012 at Heritage of Overland Park. Mary was born April 12, 1918 in Louisburg, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Knecht. Mary attended school and graduated from Louisburg High School in 1936. She married Leonard Vohs in August 1936. They resided on a farm in Wea, Kansas for 25 years where she raised her seven children. In 1962 Mary moved to Wichita, Kansas where she managed the children"s department at the GEM store. Mary married Jim Wheeler in December 1965. They moved to Paola, Kansas in 1971 where they owned and operated Mary"s Ceramic"s. Mary earned several awards and was recognized for her talent. In 1988 they moved to Wea, Kansas and traveled for many years. Mary was a member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mary loved to cook, bake and entertain her friends and family. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, husbands, and son Leon. Mary is survived by her children, Kay Henry, Donnie, Ronnie, and Steve Vohs, Ranay Brady all of Bucyrus KS, and Gary Vohs of Collins, MO, 32 Grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. Mary will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, fun loving and friend to all. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Queen of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
