Mary P. Medlin, 86, of Wellsville, Kansas passed away December 18, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Osawatomie Chapel. Visitation will be 5:00 " 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at the chapel. Burial will be in Miami County Memorial Gardens. Mary was born in Paola, Kansas to Allie and Snodie (Jones) Christopher. She graduated from Paola High School in 1944. She married Warren J. Medlin at her parents" home on December 14, 1947. They had three daughters Kay Bach, Susan Kraus and Barbara Kluge. Warren passed away August 26, 2011 in Spring Hill, KS. Mary worked at Mode O Day in Ottawa, a sewing factory in Paola, and Osawatomie State Hospital. She retired from the State of Kansas in 1988. She loved her family and enjoyed eating out, going to the casinos, and taking country rides. She lived at Vintage Park in Gardner for the last 14 months. She enjoyed the bingo games and playing dominoes with the ladies. She made many new friends and was one of the "ladies of the round table". Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Warren; brother James Christopher; and sisters Betty Payne and Minnie Raley. She is survived by her daughters Kay Bach (Tom) of Spring Hill, KS, Susan Kraus (Larry) of Shell Knob, MO and Barbara Kluge (Wes) of Olathe, KS; brother Harry Christopher of Odessa, MO; sister Mildred Hall of Osawatomie, KS; granddaughters Laura Guinn (Jason) of Alma, KS and Linda Gutierrez (Joey) of Olathe, KS; four great granddaughters and one great grandson. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House or United Methodist Church of Edgerton, KS.
