Mary "Marie" Mcquay

Mary "Marie" McQuay, age 86, of Paola, Kansas, formerly of Osawatomie, died October 15, 2016. Marie and her twin brother George were born May 2, 1930 in Rantoul, Kansas to Henry and Ollie (Hoy) DeVore. She attended school in Osawatomie, Kansas and was with the Class of 1948. She retired from the Osawatomie State Hospital after working 40 years in nursing. Her first marriage ended in divorce, one son was born. She married Bobby McQuay in 1958 in Miami, Oklahoma and one daughter was born. Her parents, two brothers and one daughter Bobbie Sharp preceded her in death. She leaves her husband Bob, a son Sherman Laas, two grandchildren Matt and Kristen Sharp, two great grandchildren Lane and Hunter Sharp, and a sister Vivian Barnard. The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to charity of choice or Interim Hospice and can be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 305 N. Pearl, Paola, KS, 66071.
