Mary Marie Brown

Mary Marie Brown was born on Monday, January 12, 1920, in Wellington, Kansas. She was the daughter of Ray and Vernae Belle (Haskins) Fyock. Mrs. Brown lived in Ottawa since 1966, moving from Emporia, Kansas. She spent the greater part of her life living in Franklin County and Ottawa, until her death on Friday, November 24, 2006, at the age of eighty-six years. Mary was an efficient homemaker who enjoyed all her homemaking skills. She especially enjoyed sewing for her family and cooking wonderful meals for their family gatherings. Everyone looked forward to those special days. She also greatly enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing and just being in the country. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ottawa. On February 4, 1940, Mary was united in marriage with Raymond Glenn Brown in Baldwin City, Kansas. They celebrated sixty-six years of marriage. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Leroy Fyock; and two sisters, Viola Mae Crump and Verna Rae Black. She is survived by her son, Raymond James 'Jim' Brown and his wife, Betty, of Lafayette, California; three daughters, Glenene Marie Brown of Winchester, Virginia, Sheryl Ann Crawford and her husband, Rick, of Ottawa, Kansas, Kristie Lynn Jessop and her husband, Brad, of Sulphur, Oklahoma; sister, Irene Wood of Ottawa, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Brown at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Sunday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to processing to Highland Cemetery for services.
