Mary “Marge” Margaret (Dennis) Moore, 82, of Louisburg, KS passed away at home on Sunday August 25, 2024.

Visitation will be held from 10 am to 11 am, Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 22779 Metcalf Rd, Bucyrus, Kansas 66013. Funeral mass will be held at 11 am. Burial to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Marge was born on November 28, 1941, in Plattsburg, Missouri to Raleigh M. and Margaret B. Dennis (Smith), where she grew up and went to school. Marge being the youngest of four girls.

As a teenager, she met and fell in love with Richard F. “Dick” Moore. They were joined in Marriage on August 21, 1958, in Liberty, Missouri. Together they had four children, Richard A. Moore, Sue L. Duncan, Annie M. Catalano (Tony), Thomas J. Moore (Alison).

Marge devoted her life to her family, taking care of her four kids and husband, which was a full-time job. She enjoyed cooking and would make noodles and biscuits from scratch, until the day Dick was served frozen noodles and biscuits by his sister-in-law Wilma. When Dick said how great they were, frozen was served from that day forward. (Always a family joke). She continued to make pumpkin pies from the pumpkin and made enough to send everyone home with a pie. At Christmas she had a tree in every room, much of this was influenced by Margie Miller. She was also well known for the huge cookies she passed out for Halloween and there are a lot of adults out there that will remember being a kid and wanting to go Trick-or-Treat her house for those cookies and homemade caramel popcorn balls.

Marge and her sister Wilma put together huge family Thanksgiving’s and Christmas dinners for everyone to come to “Granny and Papa’s” house. She loved her family and loved to take care of everyone. She was the glue that held us together.

Marge loved the sun and loved to travel. She could lay in the sun for hours on end and do nothing and be content. Dick and Marge traveled with a lot of friends and family over the years and there are great stories to be told by many. Later, Dick and Marge would travel to Mexico a lot and Mom even went alone a few times, just to hear the beach and lay in the sun.

After she spent her years raising her four children, she became a proud “Granny” to 11-Grandchildren, 13-Great Grandchildren and 5-Great Great Grandchildren. She loved her grandkids very much and loved to take care of them as well.

Marge was proceeded in death by the love of her life, her husband of nearly 57 years, Richard F. “Dick” Moore, her parents Raleigh and Margerat (Smith) Dennis, her three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley (Clyde) Berton, Roberta Mick, Wilma (Cecil) Heath, her son-in-law Dennis R Duncan, her grand-daughter J. Kaylee Duncan and many beloved friends.

She is survived by her four children, Richard Allen Moore, Sue Lynne Duncan, Anna Marie “Annie” Catalano (Tony), Thomas “Tommy” Joseph Moore (Alison). Her eleven grand-children Tara, Katie, Jesse, Matt, Tasha, Ellie, Samantha, Austin, Alyse, Ashton and Adelyn, thirteen great-grandchildren Briley, Kourtney, Kyla, Karson, Madison, Kennisyn, Breelyn, Kanton, Kason, Beau, Indie Sue, Elsia and Annie, five great-great grandchildren, Malachi, Tylan, Leonidas, Blayklea and Skye.

She was a very special lady and will be missed very much by her friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Little Sisters of the Poor, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, P.O. Box 669, Louisburg, Kansas 66053.
