Mary Margaret McCurdy, 100, passed peacefully in her sleep on February 21, 2018. She was born in Madison, Kansas, May 10, 1917 and had lived in Lebanon, Ohio, since 1942. She was a retired insurance agent associated with Dakin Insurance Agency for 15 years and with Coyne Insurance Agency for 10 years. She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ and had served as organist at several local churches as well as the Chapel at Bethesda North Hospital. Mary was a member of the Warren County Music Club, Warren County Humane Society and formerly a member of Lebanon Chapter of American Business Women. She enjoyed traveling the U.S. mainland, and had made several trips to Europe and Hawaii as well as trips to Egypt and Alaska. Mary is survived by two sisters, Betty Hull of Kansas City, Kansas, Dalene Doman (Dr. Earle) of Springfield, Missouri, a niece, Mary Lou Henry and 7 nephews, Dale Wheeler (Mary), Ray Wheeler, Brian Hull (Kim), Christopher Hull (Jennifer), Mike Doman,Roger Doman (Terri), Doug Doman (Karen) and their families. She is also survived by her cousin, Dr. Robert Simmons, Jr., special friends, Lorie Luyrink and Doug Gilham, Bernie and Donna Maphet, Shirley Connor and Billie Tussey, and a kind caregiver, Wanda Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Louise Waymire, a loving stepmother, Dorene Waymire, her husbands, George McCurdy and Ralph Gabe, a sister, Elizabeth Wheeler and a dear son in law, James Bishop. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at noon at Bethany United Church of Christ in Lebanon, Ohio. Her cremains will be interred at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
