Mary Lou Holmes

Mary L. Holmes was born August 18, 1945 in Emporia, KS, the daughter of W.O. and Jane W. (Burns) Wanamaker. She passed away October 11, 2019 in Baldwin City, KS. Mary grew up with her family in Topeka, KS. In 1969 she married Alan M. Holmes, in Topeka. They made their home in Baldwin City where they raised their three daughters, Aimee (Nicole) Black of Fayetteville, AR, Mindy Holmes of Baldwin City, and Sheri (Tom Kellogg) Holmes of Lawrence. Other survivors include her brother, Mark (Shelly) Wanamaker, their son, Scott (Kellie) Wanamaker, brother-in-law, Larry Holmes, and sister-in-law, Freda Holmes. Six grandchildren, Amber, Aubrey (Aaron), Ariel, Akoda, Drake and Wesley. Along with six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life and potluck dinner is planned for Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Baldwin City Golf Course, 1102 Main Street, Baldwin City, KS from noon until 3:00 P.M. Please bring a side dish or dessert and join us in a celebration of Mary’s life.
