Mary Lou Carson, 70, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00am, Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas.
Family will greet friends 5:30-7:30pm, Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the mortuary.
Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
Family will be gathering after the interment to share memories and stories of Mary at Grace Community Fellowship, 501 South Poplar Street, Ottawa, Kansas.
Mary was born Thursday, July 23, 1953 in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Donald W. and Audrey L. (Davidson) Catuska.
She lived in Quenemo, Kansas for many years before moving to Ottawa in the mid-2000s.
Mary graduated from Quenemo High School with the class of 1971.
She was united in marriage on December 15, 1973, in Quenemo, Kansas, by Rev. Carl Lewis to David A. Carson. They later divorced.
Mary was a lifelong homemaker and also worked for King Radio in Ottawa, Kansas as an assembler.
She was a member of the Quenemo United Methodist Church
Mary loved cooking and trading recipes. She was always up to trying out new dishes. Mary also loved pen paling, reading and writing holiday cards, playing video games, watching game shows, listening to music and playing games. She had a special knack and would always win when playing Skip-Bo. She especially loved family dinners, potlucks, and picknicks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Audrey.
Survivors include four children David Carson, Michael Carson, Danielle Thompson (Justin), and Steven Catuska, all of Ottawa, Kansas; two sisters Donna Fine (Harold) of Ft. Myers, Florida and Denise Johnson of Gardner, Kansas; and three grandchildren Kyler Carson, Stephanie Carson, and Trenton Thompson.
