Mary Lorraine Bonner, age 68, of Paola, KS, passed away on April 30, 2009, at the LifeCare Center in Osawatomie, KS. Funeral Service Monday May 4 at 10AM Holy Trinity Catholic Paola, with visitation Sunday 6:30 to 8:00PM Rosary at 6:00PM at the Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, burial Holy Cross Cemetery. To leave condolences go to penwellgabel.com. Mary was born on January 28, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, to Joseph and Evelyn Bauer. She graduated from St. Martin High School in Baltimore in 1959, and enlisted in the United States Army in 1960, receiving an honorable discharge in 1962. In 1965 Mary received her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree from Cogdell Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Snyder, TX and was married to Thomas G. Bonner in Sykesville, MD, on December 21 of that same year. Mary was a loving wife and partner for 43 years, and together she and Tom raised three children: Gary Bonner, Stephanie Bonner Moore, and Laura Bonner Waltrip. While she was accomplished in many things, Mary excelled at loving those closest to her. She was a wonderful wife and mother. In his 32 years with GMAC, Tom"s work took them to a number of cities, including Alvin, TX; Knoxville and Nashville, TN; and Kansas City, KS. In 2002, the Bonners retired and moved to Paola, where they have resided for the last seven years. Mary was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola. Mary Bonner is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Stephanie. She is survived by her husband, Tom, of the home; son, Gary Bonner, of Friendswood, TX; daughter, Laura Waltrip of Paola, KS; and five grandchildren, Tiffany, Madison, Grady, and Alyssa Waltrip and Carson Bonner.
