Mary Lee Mcelfresh

Mary Lee McElfresh, 72, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, at Olathe Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 3, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Mrs. McElfresh will lie in state from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Mary Lee was born Tuesday, September 12, 1944, in Ottawa, the daughter of Lee and Doris (Fitzgerald) Peterson. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1962 and continued her education at Emporia State University, studying office administration. Mary Lee was united in marriage to David McElfresh August 6, 1965, in Ottawa. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her two children, Lee Anne Green and husband Cliff of Lebanon, Missouri, and Darren McElfresh and wife Amber of Olathe; and five grandchildren, Jordyn Altic, Logan Altic, Bryar Green, Mara Gee, and Jordan Gee. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary Lee was an administrative assistant with several insurance agencies in Ottawa, retiring in 2005. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mary Lee was devoted to her family and enjoyed their many family activities. The family suggests memorial contributions to Olathe Hospice House c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
