Mary L. Norman

Mary Louise Norman, age 80, of Osawatomie, Kansas, died April 20, 2018 at Vintage Park Assisted Living in Osawatomie. Cremation. The family is having a private Celebration of Life service. Contributions in memory of Mary can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Epilepsy Foundation and sent in care of Dengel & Son Mortuary - Crematory, 605 O'Neal Ave., Osawatomie, KS, 66064. Mary was born September 2, 1937, at Enid Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Theodore and Dena (Van Haun) Blanchard. Mary was united in marriage to Carl Norman, Jr. in June of 1978. Carl preceded her in death. Mary received her licensed practical nursing degree at Enid, Oklahoma in 1972. Prior to retirement, she worked at Elms Haven Nursing Home in Northglenn, Colorado for four years. She worked as a nurse for over 30 years. She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her favorite pastime was her love of cross stitching. She made many cross stitch pieces that will remind her family of her for years to come. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Rose Shiever and Elizabeth Jirik, husband Carl Norman, son Michael Drennan, and two grandsons Phillip and Steven Eakins. She is survived by six children Charles Eakins of Enid, OK, Candis McVicker and her husband Mike of LaCygne, KS, Cynthia Acklin and her husband Kenneth of Oklahoma City, OK, Cheryl Eakins of Aurora, CO, Dack Drennan and his wife Vonda of Thornton, CO, and Derek Drennan of Lawton, OK; 13 grandchildren, Michele Brotherton, Jamie Guzman, Eric Young and Katrina Kapp, Kenneth Acklin, Jr., Johnathan Acklin, Paul and David Drennan, Brittany and Dack Drennan, Jr., Stephanie, Shane, and Nathan Drennan; 8 great grandchildren Taurean and Damien Guzman, Paetton and Rylon Brotherton, Shelby Young, Kennedy Kapp, Kamden and Bailey Acklln.
