Mary Jean Taylor was born January 21, 1932 in Everton, Arkansas, the daughter of Melvin Ada (O'Daniel) Robertson. She lived in Kansas City, Missouri before moving Ottawa in 1962, where she made her home, until her death, Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the age of seventy-four years. She graduated from Bruno High School in Bruno, Arkansas with the class of 1948. Jean worked twenty-five years as Administrative Assistant at Ottawa Truck, retiring in 1997. Prior to that, she worked for Raymond Brooks Trucking, Ottawa. Jean attended First Assembly of God Church in Ottawa, and was a former member of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, also in Ottawa. Jean was a wonderful person to be around. She loved her beautiful flowers and enjoyed caring for them. Crocheting and reading were two of her other hobbies she would always be found busy with. Most important to here however was her family and especially her grandchildren. There was nothing more important to her in the world then her family, she loved them all deeply. On April 1, 1950 Jean was united in marriage with Lex Taylor at Harrison, Arkansas. He survives of their home. Jean is also survived by three daughters, Angie Wilper, and her husband Tony, of Wellsville, Kansas; Ginger Meineke, and her husband Ron, of Wheatland, Missouri, Anita Banks, and her husband Mickey, of Holly Hill, Florida; one sister, Lunnell Jarrett of Everton, Arkansas; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kenny Taylor; a brother, Cecil Robertson; and a grandson, Ron Meineke, Jr. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2006. Graveside services will be at noon Saturday, May 13th at Dooley Bend Cemetery in Wheatland, Missouri. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Richard Dunn IN STATE: Mrs Taylor will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 P.M. Thursday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:00. CEMETERY: Dooley Bend Cemetery in Wheatland, Missouri.
