Mary H. Wright, 84, of Overbrook, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at Brookside Retirement, Overbrook. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends at 10:30 A.M., prior to service. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. Mary was born October 16, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Meredith Helen Craig. She lived most of her life in Pomona, Kansas, moving in 2012 to Overbrook, Kansas. Mary graduated from Argentine High School, Argentine, Kansas. She worked for many years as a waitress and in assembly with King Radio, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ottawa. In 1955, Mary was united in marriage to Keith Hankins, Sr. in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1988. Mary was united in marriage to DeWitt Wright in Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1993. Mary enjoyed ceramics, painting, crochet, cooking and elephants. Above all, she loved the time she spent with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons David Hankins and Daniel Hankins; six siblings, Sandy Miller, Vernon Long, Perry Long, Arthur Long, Cathrine Long and Bob Allman; grandson William Hankins; and great granddaughter Isabella Hankins. Survivors include three sons, Keith Hankins of Rantoul, Richard Hankins of Pomona, and Robert Hankins of Rantoul; two stepsons, Paul Wright (Kim) of Ottawa, and Rex Wright of Oregon; two siblings, Walter Long (Terri), and Frannie Howard both of Kansas City, Kansas; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
