Mary Evelyn Moraine had the great privilege of meeting the Lord on May 20, 2024.
Born to Edward Wallace Brewer and Lona Vivian Deshazer Brewer May 10, 1933 in Belton, Missouri. Mary was from a family of ten children with seven living to adulthood. She was the oldest of these seven. Mary was a second mother to them all. She graduated from Paola High School. She worked to encourage everyone and pray for all our family. She shared the salvation message of Jesus Christ. She married the love of her life Harold Raymond Moraine September 15, 1950. Together they shared their faith in the Lord teaching us all to make Heaven our home.
They had three children Harold Jr., Rita, and Brenda. They owned and operated a nursing home in Osawatomie, Kansas. Later, Mary, Harold, and family moved to Marion, Indiana then on to Muncie. Ind. where she attended Ball State University and graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Mary worked many years at the V.A. Hospital in Marion, Indiana as a Psychiatric Nurse. While they built their retirement dream home at Shell Knob, Missouri, Mary worked at the V.A. Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas helping our soldiers till her Retirement. After nursing Harold for years while he battled Alzheimer’s and dementia, Mary made her home with Brenda and Richard, who tended to her every need just has she had done for others battling illness. She was an active member of the Wesleyan Church when her health allowed.
Mary was preceded in death by her Father, Mother, her beloved husband Harold, brothers Virgil, Vivian, Vincil, Gerald, and Donald Brewer.
Mary is survived by her son, Harold (Beth) Moraine Jr., daughter Rita Moraine, and daughter Brenda (Richard) Springer. Grandchildren, Allen (Jill) Bainbridge, Laurie (Jeremy) Bays, Annette (Michael) Trammell, Michael (Christy) Ahmay, Shawn Moraine, Jennifer Burba, Dawn Dominick, Danyel (Matthew) Dorn, Wendy (Jackson) White, and Laura (Bruce) Brumfiel. Great Grandchildren, Daren McDaniel, Matthew McDaniel, Corissa (Ryan) Scislowski, Dylan Brumfiel, Brooklyn Brumfiel, Kali (Colton) Summers, Kristen (Reed) Osbourn, Alysia (Tyler) Palmer, Nicholas Trammel, Jack Trammel, Mikey Ahmay, Heaven Ahmay, Nick Ahmay, Joseph Bainbridge, Luke Bainbridge, Emily Bays, Nathaniel Bays, and Christiana (Trevor) Schacher. Mary was also blessed with several Great, Great, Grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday May 29 from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM and Funeral Services will be on Thursday May 30 at 11:00 AM. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 305 N Pearl Street, Paola, Kansas 66071 followed by a Gravesite Service.
