Mary Eloise Andrews

Mary Eloise Andrews was born on Sunday, July 8, 1923, in Catale, Oklahoma, the daughter of George and Verna (Dick) Okeson. A lifelong resident, Eloise made her home in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, until her death on Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the age of eighty-five years. Eloise graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1941. She was a Realtor in Ottawa for thirty-five years. Eloise greatly enjoyed her career and, in the early 1960's, founded Ottawa Real Estate, located on 7th & Main. She was a devoted member of 15th Street Church of Christ, and affiliated over the years with several civic, professional and social organizations of Ottawa. Her primary interests were her church and family. She also enjoyed reading and traveling. On November 22, 1941, Eloise was united in marriage with Robert L. Andrews in Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Isabella Andrews; and great-grandson, Timothy Nearmyer. Eloise is survived by her son, Mark Andrews, and his wife, Penny, of Clinton, Missouri; daughter, Jan Nearmyer and her husband, Roger, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; five grandchildren, Dana Nearmyer and his wife, Debbie, Darin Nearmyer and his wife, Amy, Lindsay Hunter and her husband, Justin, Amy Allen and her husband, Rick, Lance Andrews and his wife, Carrie; and twelve great-grandchildren, Brandon Allen, Taylor Kathryn Allen, Jackson Andrews, Madison Nearmyer, Blake Nearmyer, Landon Andrews, Tess Nearmyer, Max Nearmyer, Sophie Nearmyer, Cate Nearmyer, Aiden Hunter, and Ava Hunter. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the 15th Street Church of Christ, 10:00A.M., Thursday, September 25, 2008. IN STATE: Mrs. Andrews will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9 A.M. Wednesday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends 6 to 7:30 Wednesday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to 15th Street Church of Christ c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
