Mary Elizabeth (Snouffer) Kaiser died peacefully on December 3, 2014, at Aberdeen Village, Olathe, Kansas. She was 92. Mary Beth was born on March 7, 1922 to Verlin and Mary Alice (Phillips) Snouffer of Somerset, Kansas. Mary Beth attended Pleasant Ridge rural school and graduated from Paola High School in 1940. She also attended the College of Paola and taught eight years in Miami County rural schools and the parochial school in Osawatomie. Mary Beth married the love of her life; Edward Kaiser, Jr. in 1944, while he was home on leave from World War II. After his return from Europe, the couple moved to the farm where they continued to reside until his death in 2008. She remained there until 2011, when she moved to Aberdeen Village. The couple had two children. Mary Beth attended St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Osawatomie, Kansas for 66 years. She was a member of the Zig-Zag Sewing Club for over 30 years and the West Valley Pleasant Hour Club for over 50 years. She was a youth member of 4-H and a community leader in the Willow Branch 4-H Club. Mary Beth was a lifetime member of the Miami County Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the board and volunteer with the Miami County Historical Society and served as a member of the State Library Board. Her hobbies included quilting and preparing delicious meals for her family. Mary Beth was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, brother, Charles Lester Snouffer, and her sister, Mildred Harris-Hertha. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, E. Joseph and Nancy Kaiser of Winter Park, Florida; her daughter Marjorie Reeder of Olathe; her sisters, Esther Middlemass of Overland Park, Kansas and Eleanor Grace Hannon of Kansas City, Missouri, her sister-in-law, Etta Snouffer, of Paola and her brother-in-law and sister-in law Kenneth and Vera Kaiser of Paola. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jason Kaiser of Winter Park, Florida; Jeff and Elizabeth (Sweeney) Reeder of Paola; Amy (Kaiser) and Reid O"Kelley of Tallahassee, Florida; Elizabeth Reeder of Olathe, Kansas and her great-grandchildren; Sanders, Alexandra & Caroline O"Kelley; Alaina & Sam Kaiser; and Edward Patrick and Charlotte Reeder.
