Mary Elizabeth Spielbusch Seck Mary Elizabeth Seck, 101, passed peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2011, at the Kansas City Hospice House. She was born October 27, 1909 in Louisburg, KS, the daughter of Frank and Nellie Dore Spielbusch. Mary was a housewife, homemaker and lifelong resident of Bucyrus, KS in the Wea community. She was married to Frank Seck on November 9, 1932, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Wea, KS. They both were devoted to the Sacred Heart. She has been a member of the Holy Rosary Church since the age of two and was also a member of the Altar Society, the Perpetual Adoration Group and the Church Quilters Group. Over the last 101 years, Mary saw tremendous changes in this world, from being courted in a horse and buggy to the current times of the World Wide Web. She was a pillar of strength and a fountain of love for her family and others who knew her. She was always there for each of us and we will miss her terribly. Preceding her in death were her husband and her parents, a son, Donald Seck, a daughter, Rita Miller, a grandson, David Henry, two sisters, Margaret Thies and Lucille Kern and a brother, Leo Spielbusch. Surviving are two sons, Leo (Marla) Seck of Leawood, KS and Ed (Joanne) Seck of Bucyrus, KS, a daughter, Teresa Henry of Plano, TX, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Wea, Bucyrus, KS with the Rev. Larry Albertson officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery. The visitation will be from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011, with the rosary prayed at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Dennis Seck, Douglas Seck, James Henry, Ryan Henry, as well as Great Grandson, David Alba and Mike Rigot Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Seck and Bryan Seck. Memorials Contributions may be given to the church.
