Mary E. Fitzpatrick, 66, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Emerald. A rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Monday, November 7, 2016, at the church, followed by a family and friends visitation at 6:30 P.M. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Emerald, Kansas. Mary was born Sunday, January 1, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Dominic “Don” Michael and Evelyn (Graves) Collins. She lived in Williamsburg, Kansas, since 2014 moving from Tempe, Arizona, where she lived for twenty-five years, and Lompoc, California for ten years. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1968 and continued her education at Arizona State University receiving a bachelor of arts; and a teaching degree from Ottawa University, Phoenix, in 2006. Mary was united in marriage to Michael Fitzpatrick March 3, 1983, in Lompoc, California. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her two children, Ryan Fitzpatrick of Lawrence, and Shannon Fitzpatrick of Phoenix, Arizona; three siblings, James Collins of Talmage, Kathleen Huston and husband Paul of Anaheim Hills, California, and Diane Farrell and husband Raymond of Overland Park; and two grandchildren, Jordan Pintar and Aiden Pintar both of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Evelyn Collins. She was a devoted homemaker and was also employed as a medical assistant in the early 1980s in Lompoc, California, and taught grade school from 2009 to 2010 in Iola, Kansas. She was a sales clerk for Walgreens in Tempe, Arizona for 4 years, and Ottawa, from 2014 to 2015, retiring January 1, 2016. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Emerald. Mary will be remembered for her love of family and their time spent together. She loved traveling, reading, working in the yard, was a dog lover, and team mom for her children’s sports.
