Mary Alice Thompson

Mary Alice Thompson, age 96, of Ottawa , Kansas , died Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa , Kansas . She was born on Monday, February 8, 1915, on the family farm northwest of Ottawa . She was the daughter of John Marion and Ella H. (McClellan) Angleton. She was a lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident. Mary graduated from Liberty School in Franklin County and attended Ottawa High School . She worked in the Franklin County Treasurer’s office from 1970 until 1975. On Saturday, February 22, 1936, Mary was united in marriage with Sidney Lee Thompson in Lawrence, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1970. She is survived by her: Son-Jerry Thompson and his wife, Connie, of Ottawa , Kansas; Son-Bob Thompson and his wife, Nancy, of Ottawa , Kansas; Son-Jack Thompson and his wife, Sharon, of Ottawa , Kansas; Daughter-Judy Foltz and her husband, Richard, of Princeton , Kansas; Grandchildren-Eight and Gt.Grandchildren-Fifteen. She is preceded in death by her: Husband-Sidney Lee Thompson; Parents-John Marion and Ella H. Angleton; Daughter-Leota L. Thompson; Brothers(4)-Claude, Ray, Eugene, and Lee Angleton; Sisters(3)-Ethel Angleton, Venita Wheeler, and Lula Angleton. SERVICES: Private family services will be held. IN STATE: Mrs. Thompson will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, where the family will meet with friends 7:00 to 8:00 Wednesday evening.
