Marvin Joplin

Marvin Lance Joplin, Jr. Marvin Joplin, aka Jock aka Junie, of Paola, KS, left this world January 12, 2014 joining his father, mother and sister. Born July 31, 1940 in Corder, MO, to Rose Marie and Marvin, Sr., the family soon moved to the "big city." He met Judy Pulley and they married in 1960, enjoying nearly 54 years together. He spent most of his career as a machinist, working at Systems Material Handling for 30 years. Dad loved many things in life"his family, his "71 Chevelle, grilling, talking about old times, working, even owning his own machine shop while working at SMH. Dad loved sports and his dogs"the family was never without one. Marvin is survived by his wife Judy, his children Lisa (David), Leanna (Warren), Michael, John (Jenna), Chris, and Jenny (Greg), and 12 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister Ruthy and grandson Ryan. At his request, there will be no memorial service at this time but instead, a celebration of life this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
