Marvin F. Sobba, age 82, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, in Kansas City, Missouri, from complications caused by COVID-19. Marvin was born on March 4th, 1939, on the family farm north of Garnett, Kansas, to Frank and Clara Elizabeth (Mader) Sobba. He was the third of four children. He attended Spring Branch School, then graduated in 1957 from Garnett High School in Garnett, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Beth A. Vaughan, on November 14, 1959, at Holy Angles Church in Garnett, Kansas. This union was blessed with 3 children, Dianne, John, and Frank. Marvin, a farmer, enjoyed collecting and restoring John Deere tractors. He had many careers throughout his life, including dairyman, carpenter, and truck driver. He was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scipio, Kansas. His greatest joy came in retirement, watching and raising his 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beth, his parents Frank and Clara, his brother Carl Sobba, and his brother-in-law Pat Adkinson. He is survived by his three children, Dianne Wilper and husband Bill, of Garnett, John Sobba of Tucson, Arizona, and Frank Sobba of Richmond; daughter-in-law, Monica Sobba of Richmond; two sisters, Laura Davis, and husband, Bill of Garnett, Doris Adkinson of Richmond; sister-in-law Iona Sobba, of Garnett; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Scipio, Kansas, with burial to follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
