Marvin E. Copeland , age 82 of Louisburg, KS, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Golden Living Center, Spring Hill, KS. He was born May 31, 1929 in Dorchester, Wisconsin the son of William and Jessie (Ireland) Copeland. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharge on December 20, 1952. He married Gloria Hendrickson on February 14, 1953 in Dubuque, Iowa. He worked most of his life as a truck driver and retired from ABF trucking in 1993 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, and his dogs in their motor home, spending time with his family and fishing. Marvin battled cancer for twenty one years. He is preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife Gloria of the home, two sons, Jeffrey Copeland and wife Anne of Stilwell, KS; Jerry Copeland of Pinson, Alabama; three brothers, five sisters, three grandchildren, Sharon, Brian, Diane and many nieces and nephews.
