Marvin E. Duvall, 72, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Services are pending and will be announced later. Marvin was born Monday, July 24, 1944, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Leatha (Webb) Duvall. He graduated from Washington High School in Bethel, Kansas, with the class of 1962. Marvin attended Emporia State University and graduated with a degree in accounting and education in 1967. He taught two years at Stanley, Blue Valley, before accepting a job at Central Heights. Marvin taught mathematics and science for 34 years and finished his career teaching remedial math, retiring in 2001. Marvin was united in marriage to Dorothy (Mildfelt) Sigler August 28, 1964. They enjoyed 41 years of marriage. She preceded him in death in October, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Leatha Duvall; brothers, Donald Duvall and Loren Duvall; sister, Sharon Duvall LaCoy; and daughter, Melanie Duvall Cook. Survivors include his sons, Michael Mildfelt and daughter-in-law Debi of Winfield, Dan Mildfelt and daughter-in-law Lisa of Chanute, and Todd Mildfelt and daughter-in-law Kelly of Richmond; daughter-in-law, Joy Mildfelt of Richmond; sisters, Colleen Watkins of Overland Park, and Ramona Neal also of Overland Park; brother, Harold (Hal) Duvall of Blue Springs, Missouri; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years while Dorothy played the piano and organ. Marvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, photography and his family. He was one of the Scout Masters of Troop 242, Richmond, from 1967 to 1972 and helped with the organization of the Richmond Community Museum. He and Dorothy enjoyed traveling and they took many vacations together. They also belonged to the Night Crawlers Camping Club and enjoyed their many friends in the group.
