Marvin R. Barden age 90 of Osawatomie passed away Saturday at the Life Care Center in Osawatomie, Graveside Services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday May 28th at the Beagle Cemetery .Memorials to the Paola VFW Ladies Auxilary. Services provided by Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, to leave condolences go to Penwell-Gabel.com. Marvin was born February 5, 1918 in Miami County to James Fred and Eva May Surber Barden. He entered the United States Army in 1940 and was discharged in 1945 after serving in the 127th Field Artillery Battalion in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe. On December 4, 1945 Marvin was united in marriage to Etta Lee Pope in Kansas City Kansas, where they lived until moving to Osawatomie Kansas in 1986. He was a butcher with the Milgrams Food Store for many years before retiring. He was a lifetime member of the Paola VFW. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, wife Etta in 1994, 4 sisters, Winifred Osmon, Mildred Marvin, Donna Jean Davis,Velma Betcher and 1 brother Fred Barden. Survivors are many nieces and nephews, i sister Helen Rhodes of Osawatomie Beagle Cemetery , Beagle Kansas Service: Graveside Service Wednesday, May 28, 2008 10:30 AM Visitation: No Visitation
