Marvin B. Clark age 89 of Paola passed away April 20, 2011 at the St Bernadette Assisted Living facility,in Centennial Colorado. Marvin was born December 21, 1921 in Wheaton Kansas to John R. and Mabel Brown Clark. He graduated from Wamego High School in 1939. He was active in the Pottawatomie County 4-H Club, and served as President of the Pottawatomie County 4-H Club Council 1939. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp in 1943, and was a flight engineer on B-29 stationed on Guam before receiving his honorable discharge in 1946. He was united in marriage to Blanche Larson on January 14, 1945 in Beltrami Minnesota and they shared 63 years of marriage before her passing in 2008. Marvin graduated from the Kansas State University in 1947. He was a county agent for Miami County from 1947 to 1950, worked for the Kansas State University Extension Service from 1950 to 1953. Marvin started the Clark Agricultural Service, Farm Management and Rural Appraiser Company in 1953. He was a Kansas House of Representative from 1961 to 1967, president of American Society of Farm Management and Rural Appraisers Assoc. in 1968. Marvin served on the Paola City Council , was President of the Paola Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of the Lighthouse Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Blanche , two sisters Phyllis Hobbs and Hazel Flinn. Survivors are his son John and wife Jeanette Clark of Louisburg, daughter, Betsy and husband Scott Murray of Denver Colorado, daughter Donna and husband Tom Howard of Caney Kansas, daughter Retta and husband Lon Huston of Cheyenne Wyoming, sister Jean Parker of Kansas City Missouri, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
