Marty B. Ferrell

Marty B. Ferrell, 54, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020, at his home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Marty Brett Ferrell was born on Wednesday, December 29, 1965, in Kansas City, Kansas. the son of Donald Jack and Sharon Irene (Bohrn) Ferrell of Pomona. He graduated from Chanute High School in Chanute, Kansas with the class of 1983 and attended Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas. Marty was united in marriage to Angela Lynn Fisher July 8, 1989 in Independence, Missouri. She survives of their home. Other survivors include his parents, daughter, Brooke Cathcard and husband Mike of Lebo, Kansas; sons, Brian Ferrell and wife Courtney of Ottawa; Brad Ferrell (Justyne Wilson) of Ottawa; grandchildren, Lane Dall of Lebo, Kansas, Greyson Studley of Ottawa, Harper Ferrell of Ottawa, Peighton Cathcard of Lebo, Kansas, and Caleb Ferrell of Ottawa; and sisters, Tammy Green and husband Jim of Pomona and Christy Shehan and husband Mike also of Pomona. He worked 15 years as a service advisor for TransAm Trucking and 9 years for Kansas City Peterbilt. Marty also worked in sales 16 years for The Gun Guys in Ottawa. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ottawa, the National Rifle Association, the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Ottawa Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. Marty loved spending time with his family, shooting, hunting, and traveling.
