Martin E. “Scotty” Scott, age 80, of Pomona, Kansas, died Monday, January 18, 2010, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was born on Friday, December 27, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of Edward Scott and Martha (Pummill) Scott. He was a resident of Pomona since 1973, moving from Lenexa. He previously lived in Kansas City, Missouri, and Washington, D.C. Scotty attended school in Georgetown, Missouri. He worked for the City of Lenexa, Kansas, as a superintendent of the public works department for twenty-six years, retiring in 1982. Scotty was a Sergeant in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles of Ottawa. On Wednesday, November 2, 1949, Scotty was united in marriage with Thelma S. Terry” Theander in Bel Air, Maryland. She survives of their home. He is survived by his: Wife-Thelma “Terry” Scott of the home Son-Richard Scott of Shawnee, KS Son-David Scott of Pomona, KS Sister-Necia Troutman of Versailles, MO Sister-Bessie Reberry of Springfield, MO Grandchildren- Kari Scott, Kendra Scott, Kristen Scott, Shawn Scott, Heather Scott, Ashley Scott. Great-Grandchildren-Seven Stepmother-Mary Scott of Versailles, MO He is preceded in death by his: Mother-Martha Scott Father-Edward Scott Sister-Eulamae Fry SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010. IN STATE: Mr. Scott will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 12:00 p.m. Friday, where the family will meet with friends 7:00 to 8:00 Friday evening. CEMETERY: Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
