Martha June Greiner

Martha June Greiner was born on Thursday, November 19, 1942, in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, the daughter of Herschel and Ellen (Young) Kunard. A lifelong resident, June made her home in Ottawa until her death on Friday, February 3, 2006, at the age of sixty-three years. June graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1960. She earned her Cosmetology Certificate while attending Hays Beauty School in Mission, Kansas. She was a beautician in Shawnee, Lawrence, and Ottawa. Foremost, she was a devoted wife and homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member and Deaconess of North Baptist Church in Ottawa. June dearly loved her family and had so much fun playing with her grandchildren. She was happiest when they could all be together. June enjoyed traveling with her husband and eating at Red Lobster. She also enjoyed shopping, especially, at Hobby Lobby and Kohl's. She liked creating various crafts and watching Q.V.C. and the weather channel on T.V. June was a lovely lady, so gracious and kind, always concerned for others. Her beautiful smile made her eyes absolutely twinkle! On December 28, 1963, June was united in marriage with Steve Greiner in Ottawa. They celebrated forty-two years together. Steve survives of their home. June is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Darran Wheeler of Quenemo, Kansas; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Kim Greiner of Queensbury, New York; three grandsons, Colton Malburg, Chase Malburg, Matthew Greiner; granddaughter, Erika Greiner; three brothers and sisters-in-law, M. Joe and Loretta Kunard of Denver, Colorado, Wayne and Vera Kunard of Shawnee, Kansas, Johnny and Cora Kunard of Vassar, Kansas; sister, Joy Kunard of Denver, Colorado, and sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Bob Dunn of Ottawa. Mrs. Greiner is preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Dwayne Kunard. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at North Baptist Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Greiner at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.
