Martha Egidy

Martha A. Egidy age 81 of Paola, Kansas passed away at the St. Lukes Hospital on Friday, Nov. 7. Funeral Service Wednesday, Nov. 12th, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10:00AM. Rosary, Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 6:00PM with visitation following at 6:30 to 7:30 PM Holy Trinity Catholic Church, burial Holy Cross Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Church. To leave a special a message, go to Penwell-Gabel.com. Martha was born November 3, 1927 in Ava, Missouri, to Edward and Dora Walker McBride. She grew up in the Lockwood, Missouri area, until moving to Paola her senior year in high school, where she was a member of the 1945 Paola High School graduating class. On May 12, 1953 she was united in marriage to Matt Egidy, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Paola. They made their home on a farm west of Paola, where Martha spent her married life being a homemaker and helping with their hay business. She and Matt enjoyed taking trips throughout the United States in the spring and fall. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Alter Society. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Faye Moenning. Survivors are her husband Matt of the home, brother, Everett and wife Moriscene McBride, and sister, Hazel Mitchell, both of Paola, and many nieces and nephews plus a host of friends.
