Marshall Milford Ball, age 81, of Ottawa, Kan., died Thursday, August 26, 2004, at at his residence in Ottawa, Kan. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, Kansas. Milford graduated from Rantoul High School with the class of 1942. He was employed as a lineman for over thirty years with Kansas City Power & Light, retiring in 1983. Milford served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, from December 26, 1942 to January 31, 1946, attaining the rank of Corporal. He received the American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Ottawa Lodge #803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, both of Ottawa; Electrical Union Local 1464; Kansas City Power & Light Quarter Century Club; Ottawa Men`s Bowling Association; and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 On January 25, 1949, Milford was united in marriage with Shirley Eudora Hendrickson at Ottawa. She preceded him in death on September 6, 1994. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2004. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Michael Schooley. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Ball at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 5 to 6:00 Sunday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas, with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice or Franklin County Cancer Foundation, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
