Marlene M. (Kettler) Troutman, age 87, of rural Wellsville, Kansas, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City,Missouri. Family will meet with friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 605 O'Neal Avenue, Osawatomie, KS, 66064. Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery, Parker, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2019. Contributions in memory of Marlene are to the Wounded Warrior Project and can be sent in care of the funeral home. Marlene was born Saturday, March 26, 1932, at the home of her parents John Dietrich and Ella Matilda (Minden) Kettler in rural Miami County, Kansas. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Paola High School with the Class of 1950. Marlene was united in marriage to Loren Troutman on February 10, 1952. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter. Marlene and Loren shared 61 wonderful years of marriage together before Loren's passing on October 12, 2013. During Marlene's working years, she worked for several banks and Ready Mix Companies as a bookkeeper. Marlene enjoyed trips to many countries that Loren qualified for with his career as an insurance agent. After retirement, she continued to enjoy traveling with Loren, counted cross stitch, reading, and especially time spent with her grandchildren and attending their activities. She was a big Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan as well as a fan of KU basketball. She belonged to a card group that played pitch together for over 30 years. Playing pitch was something she carried over as another favorite pastime with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Loren, grandson Joshua Hull, parents, sister Dorothy Chapman, and three brothers Ralph, Dale and Lloyd Kettler, Survivors include her daughter Lorna and husband Howard Hull; two grandchildren Bryan and Emily Hull; two sisters-in-law Mary Ann Maisch and Carolyn Reed; and many nieces and nephews.
