Mark P. Waymire

Mark P. Waymire, age 60, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Friday, February 10, 2012, at Ottawa Retirement Village. He was born on Wednesday, July 25, 1951, in Ottawa, the son of Donald and Norma (Page) Waymire. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, he lived in Kansas City, Missouri, moving to Joplin, Missouri in 2005, returning to Ottawa in the spring of 2011. Mark graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1969 and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. He was a Union Journeyman Dry Waller for Painter’s District Council #3 for twenty-five years in the Kansas City and Joplin areas, retiring in 2010. Mark was an outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing. He liked listening to music and, as of lately, enjoyed watching Discovery and History channels on T.V. He also looked forward to the weekends when he watched basketball or football with his friends. On Wednesday, December 29, 1971, Mark was united in marriage with Sue Chesbro in Ottawa, Kansas. They were later divorced. He is survived by his: Parents – Don and Norma Waymire of Ottawa, Kansas Son – Benjamin Waymire and his fiancé, Carson Snyder, of Denver, Colorado Son – Daniel Waymire and his wife, Megan, of Denver, Colorado Sister – Susan Crowley and her husband, Mark, of Independence, Missouri Brother – Bruce Waymire and his wife, Kathleen, of Ottawa, Kansas Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews – Several He is preceded in death by his: Maternal Grandparents – George A. and Fay (Hoopes) Page Paternal Grandparents – Olin W. and Thelma (Davis) Waymire SERVICES: Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 Monday evening, February 20, 2012, at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. CEMETERY: Private Inurnment will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
