Mark E. Collins

July 10, 1952 — November 14, 2019

Mark E. Collins, 67, of Waverly, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019. A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M., Monday, November 18, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends immediately following. Mark E. Collins was born July 10, 1952 at Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of John Edward and Lena (Peine) Collins. He was a graduate of Williamsburg High School with the class of 1970. Mark started his lifelong career as a farmer in 1968. He started farming with his father and uncle Frank when he was in high school. There wasn’t room for him. He started in Custom Silage Chopping and Lime spreading. In 1985, he went broke farming and had to start all over again south of Waverly. Mark had his share of bad luck, but had a good life being self-employed and wanted to thank Bryan, Steve, Karen and their children and Sara and David for their help through some tough times. He loved working and considered his hobby to be helping his children and grandchildren. Mark was preceded in death by his children, Jennifer, Chris and Chad. He is survived by his grandchildren, Jessie, Colby, Wade and Seth. Mark would prefer no memorial donations be given in his name but that those who knew him would Pay It Forward.
