Mark A. Ruchti, age 68, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020, at AdventHealth Ottawa. Family services will be held later at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, Iowa. Mark was born May 5, 1952, in Mapleton, Iowa, the son of Cornelius and Meta (Hausechildt) Ruchti. He grew up in Mapleton, moving in the early 1980’s to Ottawa. Mark served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was employed at Central Fiber in Wellsville, Kansas, as a maintenance technician for 30 years, retiring in 2018. Mark enjoyed working with computers, CB radios and old technology, as well as tinkering on cars. Above all, spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren were most important to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leon Ruchti and sister, Sherral Ruchti. Survivors include two daughters, Jessica (Brian) Brown of Ottawa, and Shelly Sheets of Hazleton, Pennsylvania; eight siblings, Donna Myers, Deanna Lawson, Denny Ruchti, Bruce Ruchti, Larry Ruchti, Jeffery Ruchti, Duwaine Ruchti, and Dennis Ruchti; and granddaughter, Aubrey Brown.
