Marion A. Humiston, 68, of Olathe, Kansas formerly of Rantoul, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Fort-de-France, Martinique, French Antilles. Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Family will meet with friends one hour prior to services. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Marion was born on Friday, August 24, 1945 in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Fields) Humiston. He lived in Olathe, Kansas the last six years, moving from Rantoul, Kansas where he lived from 1980 to 2007 and Princeton, Kansas up to 1980. He graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1964 and following his military service continued his education at Ottawa University for two years. On April 24, 1970 Marion was united in marriage with Cindy Spratt in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of their home. He is also survived by his son, Justin Humiston and wife Carrie of Overland Park, Kansas; mother, Dorothy Humiston of Princeton; granddaughter, Nora Humiston and grandson, Henry Humiston both of Overland Park; sister, Patricia Kueser and husband Dean of Richmond, Kansas; and two brothers, Gayle Humiston and wife Janet of Pomona, Kansas, and Dean Humiston and wife Peggy of Princeton, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father. Marion worked for the United States Post Office, in Ottawa, retiring in 2007. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968.
