Marilyn P. Schaub, 77, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at her home in Princeton, Kansas. Family will meet with friends for a graveside inurnment service at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Princeton Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 28, 2015, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Marilyn was born Saturday, February 12, 1938, in Homewood, Kansas, the only child of O. Ray and L. Pearl Beeson. She was a lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident with the exception of living a short time in Anderson County. She attended grades one through four at Homewood, grades five through eight at Williamsburg, grades nine and ten at Princeton and graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1956. Marilyn was united in marriage with Buddy Charles “Bud” Schaub December 12, 1956. He preceded her in death December 18, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Pearl Beeson. Survivors include her two children, Rodney Schaub and wife Diana of Princeton, and Ronda Anderson and husband Larry of Brookfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Amanda Schaub of Ottawa, Ryan Schaub of Princeton, and Mathew Anderson of Brookfield, Missouri; and her dog, Hazel. Marilyn worked as a secretary at the Franklin County Extension Office and then twenty-five years at the Post Office at Princeton, starting as a clerk and then as Post Mistress, retiring in 1993. She worked part-time at the Ottawa Herald until 2013. She was a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, NARFE, the International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association, East Central Kansas Trike Club; a former member of Princeton Workers Homemakers Unit and as a youth belonged to 4-H. Marilyn enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer, going to the Senior Center in Richmond to play dominos, cards and to line dance, attending events with Peoples Bank 50 plus Club, dinner theater in Garnett, and loved to eat at Taco Bell.
