Maridonna Cain, 85, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Brookside Retirement Community. Family will meet with friends from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday. Cremation will follow. Private family inurnment will be held later at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas. Donna was born January 20, 1932, in Overbrook, Kansas, the daughter of Benjamin and Grace (Bragg) Hoffman. She lived in Ottawa until 1983 moving to Iola. In 1999, Donna returned to Ottawa until moving in 2015 to Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook. Donna was united in marriage to Jack Ledom Sr. in April 1951 in Ottawa. They were later divorced. Donna married Clarence Cain in April 1982 in Ottawa. He preceded her in death February 5, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Grace Hoffman; four brothers, Lloyd, Delbert, Howard and Fred Hoffman; and eight sisters, Vergie, Anna, Theresa, Sally, Doris, Ruth, Myrtle and Wilma. Survivors include her twelve children, Jack Ledom Jr. and wife Robi of Helotes, Texas, Mike Ledom and wife Carrie of Farlington, Georgia Miller and husband Andrew of Richmond, Brenda Lefler and husband Paul Chavez of Wichita, Steve Ledom and wife Desta of Rogers, Arkansas, Nancy Miller and husband Lonnie of Northlake, Texas, Gary Ledom of Bayou Vista, Louisiana, Bud Ledom of Ottawa, Janis Bilson and husband Mike of Edgerton, Vicky Vernon of Gardner, Robert Ledom and wife Gailyn of Burlington, and Patricia Wilson of Wellsville; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and fifteen step-grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker and worked miscellaneous jobs while raising her children. She was an active member of the Community Foursquare Church. Donna enjoyed crafting and taking care of her flowers, garden and plants. She was very active in her church and you never saw her without one of her many colorful hats that she collected throughout the years.
