Marian Whirley

Marian P. Whirley, 78, of Overland Park, passed away October 22, 2014 in her home at Tallgrass Creek Retirement Community. Marian was born in 1935 in Southeast Kansas, and grew up helping out on her family"s farm where she learned a strong work ethic. She had very fond memories of attending a one room school house, graduated McPherson College, and was a teacher and homemaker before dedicating her life and career to civil service. Marian enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing bridge and board games, was a 3 time hole-in-one golfer, belonged to an investment club, and enjoyed volunteering and spending time with family and friends. Marian is survived by her mother; a sister and brother; two sons; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many, many dear and loved friends.
