Dr. Marion L. (Brockway) Brockway, age 91, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Brockway and the late Luella (Parker) Brockway. She lived in Ottawa since 1985, moving from Lawrence, where she had been a longtime resident. Marian graduated from Topeka High School with the class of 1930, and Washburn University in Topeka with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Following her service in the Army, she obtained her chiropractic degree in Wichita. She had a private chiropractic practice in Lawrence thirty-three years. In 1985, she began practicing in Ottawa, retiring in 1990 She served in the United States Army stateside during World War II, as a Physical Therapist, attaining the rank of 2nd Lt. Dr. Brockway was a member of the Congregational Church in Lawrence and attended Westminister Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. She was the last of her family and was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Maurice Brockway; mother, Luella Brockway; sister, Emmalyn E. Becker; 3 brothers, H. Austin Brockway, Stanley H. Brockway, Parker W. Brockway; twin brother S. Martin Brockway and an infant sister, Ruth Brockway. SERVICES: Dr. Brockway has been cremated.
