Marian Lou Gadberry

Marian Louise “Mary Lou” Gadberry, 91, Richmond, Kansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 1, 2014. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Frederick Cemetery, Rice County, Kansas. Marian was born on Sunday, November 26, 1922 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur and Marian (Skiles) Keller. She grew up with an older sister and two brothers, one older and one younger, in a home filled with Bible studies, praying, singing, and piano playing. On November 16, 1952 Marian was united in marriage with Darrell Gadberry in Angola, Indiana. She became a loving mother to Darrell’s four children from a previous marriage. Survivors include her son, Kenneth Gadberry of Oklahoma; daughter, Darrlyeen Gadberry of Texas; daughters-in-law, Lynn Gadberry and Emma Sherwood both of Oregon; sister, Maude Hodges of Richmond, Kansas; and brother, Arthur Keller Jr. of Overland Park, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Darrell and Tyrone Gadberry; parents; and brother, John Keller. Marian lived in 11 different states and held many different jobs. Her longest place of residence was in Park City, Kansas where she lived for over 25 years. During this time she worked for the Defense Contract Audit Agency, Boeing Company. She divided the ‘retirement’ period of her life amongst her children, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren in Oregon and with her siblings, other family and friends here in Kansas. Marian loved the outdoors, family gatherings and being involved in her church activities. She was a very loving and lovable person who will be missed by all who knew her.
