Marguerite L. “Peggy” Harshberger, age 76 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin City, Kansas. She was born on Friday, January 15, 1937 in Bangor, Maine the daughter of Earl and Barbara (Perry) Emery. She has been a resident of Ottawa since 1987, moving from Kincaid, Kansas. Peggy also resided in De Soto, Kansas, Merriam, Kansas and Old Town, Maine. Peggy attended Old Town High School in Maine. She was a personal caregiver providing comfort and compassion for those in need. Peggy worked with her husband in the dairy cattle business as a milk maid. She was a store manager for Seven-Eleven Convenience Store and also cleaned houses for many years. Peggy enjoyed traveling to horse pulls with her husband Lee and attending state and county fairs. In her spare time she enjoyed trout fishing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa and was chairman of the Dorcas Circle. She was a long time volunteer for the church and Hope House. On August 10, 1962, Peggy was united in marriage with Richard Lee Harshberger in Old Town, Maine. He survives of their home. Grandchildren-one She is preceded in death by her: Son-Chris Harshberger Granddaughter-Danielle Comstock SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Ottawa, Kansas 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Harshberger at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. CEMETERY: Interment will be at Highland, Cemetery, Ottawa. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church or Hope House c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
